Chinese New Year Day falls on Wednesday, January 29th. However in Hawaii, our celebrations happen before and well beyond the New Year day. Saam Fu will be ushering in the Year of the Snake with a full slate of lion dance performances. Join us for a lively Lunar New Year celebration at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako. Festivities begin at 11 am with a martial arts demo and a traditional Chinese lion dance by the Asian Lion Dance Team. You can also capture a special moment with the 2024 Miss Chinatown Hawaii and the 2024 Miss Hawaii Chinese 1st Princess! Welcome the Lunar New Year on Feb. 10 with lion dance performances (11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on levels 1, 2 and 3), traditional Chinese calligraphy (1 to 3 p.m. on level 1, Mauka Court), and free stargazing with Stargazers of Hawaii Moon Viewing (6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the Grand Lanai).
