In 2024, the Lunar New Year will enthuse the Year of the Dragon, promising excitement and new beginnings. The Lunar New Year celebrations in 2024 will commence on Saturday, the 10th of February. The Bendigo Chinese Association would like to thank our official sponsor of the event SBS, as well as our logistics partner the City of Greater Bendigo. It’s the Year of the Dragon and local celebrations will feature a special appearance from one of Bendigo’s favourite dragons, Sun Loong. To ring in the festivities, the Bendigo Chinese Association (BCA) and Golden Dragon Museum will hold an evening of free family fun at Dai Gum San, from 5.30pm-8.30pm on Saturday February 10. Dai Gum Loong is considered a water dragon, so the scales on the back of his Bendigo will celebrate Lunar New Year in the Year of the Dragon with a procession and family event at Dai Gum Sun, including an appearance by dragon Sun Loong.
