Bristol has plenty going on to kick off the Year of the Snake – join in the celebrations at these special Lunar New Year Events. Lunar New Year at Wai Yee Hong, 1 February. Chinese supermarket Wai Yee Hong host the biggest free Lunar New Year celebrations in the city. Dance and martial arts performances, and an incredible lion dance. The coming year is the Year of the Wood Snake in the Chinese zodiac. To celebrate, Bristol is hosting an array of events and festivities with plenty of music, food and traditional activities, to Come to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Snake at Wai Yee Hong’s Lunar New Year celebrations, on 1st February 2025. The annual celebrations is the biggest in the South West and raises money for The Grand Appeal. This family event is FREE to attend and will feature dance and martial arts performances as well as the traditional lion dance. On Saturday, February 1 , the family-run supermarket will host its annual free festivities with traditional lion dances, kung fu demonstrations, Chinese folk music performances and much more. Over 100 New Year stalls, including 40+ authentic Asian street food vendors spread across two days.
