On Jan. 25, the bustling city of Falls Church, Virginia came alive as the Asian Community Service Center (ACSC) hosted its much-anticipated annual Chinese New Year Festival. The event was held at the Luther Jackson Middle School in Falls Church from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and drew in many VIPs, including local politicians and more. The Lunar New Year parade will be held on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and will be rain or shine. The annual parade in Chinatown will celebrate the Year of the Snake with a firecracker show and many eateries to choose from afterward. Chinese New Year Festival in Washington DC area is host by Asian Community Service Center (ACSC) annually. Usually it is one day in-door events with cultural performances including dragon and lion dances, delicious Asian foods, New Year Parade, Culture exhibition, Craft show, language, health and business booths, and children’s activities, among other attractions. The Asian Community Service Center is hosting its 15th Annual Chinese New Year Festival. Around 4,000 people attend the event every year. The goal for this year’s event is to return to tradition.
