To celebrate Lunar New Year and the Year of the Snake, ABC Radio Brisbane is partnering with BrisAsia Festival, helping celebrate Brisbane's Asian cultures. ABC Radio Brisbane will be at Southside Also known as Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, the Lunar New Year celebrates the start of the Chinese lunisolar calendar for another year. Brisbane will host a Lunar New Year BrisAsia Festival returns from Friday 31 January to Sunday 9 February 2025 to celebrate Lunar New Year and the transformative energy of the Year of the Snake. Symbolising wisdom, rebirth and new beginnings, this festival will ignite your imagination with an extraordinary fusion of tradition and modern creativity. The Brisbane Phoenix will come alive with Lunar New Year celebrations, with roving lion dances at 7.00pm on Wednesday, January 29. For two weeks, you can taste Brisbane Phoenix ‘s Year of the Snake Special Menu, which includes à la carte dishes including steamed trout with ginger and shallot, flaming lobster, black moss dried scallop and Celebrate the Year of the Snake in 2025 with Lunar New Year in the Gardens, an exciting cultural event for the whole family. Enjoy captivating performances, including Lion Dancers and a Martial Arts display by the International Wushu Academy, live music from Sitar virtuoso Sudha Manian, renowned Tibetan music Tenzin Choegyal and tabla virtuoso Chinese New Year 2025 Celebrations In Brisbane Brisbane's Chinese New Year celebrations will be a lively, colorful, and entertaining event this year. There will be live music, cultural performances, martial arts displays, markets, and a wide range of food booths in addition to the customary dragon and lion dances. Sunnybank’s Lunar New Year Rooftop Party is a free, family friendly event on the rooftop at Sunnybank Plaza!
