From Wednesday 29 January until Sunday 16 February, the Asian Events Trust with funding from Wellington City Council and other partners, are bringing Paint the Town Red, the Lunar New Year Festival, to Courtenay Precinct and the waterfront. Check out some ways to join in on the festivities below and to celebrate the year of the sssnake. The Lunar New Year begins on 29 January, marking the transition from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake. To welcome the New Year, a free two-week festival programme will run from 1 to 16 February. Courtenay Place kicks off the festivities on 1 February.
