PACIFIC SYMPHONY’S LANTERN FESTIVAL . 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Segerstrom Center for the Arts, in partnership with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, will celebrate the Lantern Festival through events like the Dragon Dance, music and dance performances, and lantern decorating. UC Irvine honored a decade of Lunar New Year celebrations with a pre-event at the Student Center’s Pacific Ballroom and main event at the Irvine Barclay Theater on Jan. 21. We would have j ai (monk's food), gao (sweet sticky rice cake), j in dui (sesame balls), and candied fruit in served in tea.
