The 2025 Lunar New Year kicks off on Wednesday, Jan. 29, followed by the centrepiece parade in Vancouver’s Chinatown on Feb. 2, and wrapping up with the Lantern Festival on Feb. 12. LunarFest Vancouver is a celebration of the Lunar New Year.The arts and cultural festival features live entertainment, lantern displays and more. In 2025 the festival runs from January 27th to February 22nd. What: The 51st Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration is happening on Sunday, February 2, 2025, the fifth day of the Year of the Snake. The popular event is expected to draw over 5,000 participants and more than 100,000 spectators to the neighbourhood, with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and more for everyone to enjoy. The Chinese Canadian Museum celebrates Lunar New Year with a weekend full of fun activities, storytelling, crafts, treats, and more. Celebrate with a weekend of Lunar New Year festivities at the museum on February 1st and 2nd, featuring free treat sampling, themed crafts, and Chinese board games. Highlights include Cantonese storytime on Saturday and artisanal ice cream and balloon art on Sunday after the Chinatown Parade!
