In 2025 Vancouver celebrates the Lunar New Year with the 51st annual Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown. It’s an impressive event! The Year of the Snake begins on January 29th in 2025. Running since 1973, the parade takes place on the first Sunday after the start of the New Year. In 2025, consequently, that means the parade happens on On parade day, stop by the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden from 11:30am to 5:30pm for musical performances, traditional tea ceremonies, Lunar New Year-themed arts and crafts and lucky couplets calligraphy writing, a variety of culinary delights at the Food Corner, and more.
