The Perth Chinese New Year Fair is back Sunday 2 February to celebrate the Year of the Snake with a series of special events. The popular community event promises a captivating array of cultural experiences and festivities - attendees can immerse themselves in traditional arts and crafts, and see colourful cultural performances, including the highly anticipated lion and dragon dances. While the Chinese New Year officially lands on 29 January, you can expect festivities across the city over the next few weeks - think vibrant lion dances, glowing lanterns, and endless feasting on dumplings and prosperity noodles. Perth’s largest and most vibrant annual celebration is the Perth Chinese New Year Fair on Sunday 2 February. Held between James and Lake Street in Northbridge, as well as in Yagan Square, this free event presented by the Chung Wah Association features lion and dragon dances, lantern making, calligraphy, cultural performances and food stalls.
