Assembly Bill (AB) 2596, authored by Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Campbell), was among the Lunar New Year-- a holiday period that spans more than two weeks -- is set to begin on Feb. 10, with traditions and celebrations that spread far beyond one region.. The holiday, often referred to Chinese, Filipino, Indian, and Vietnamese communities make up the top AAPI communities in the state. The population grew by 25% in the last decade, making it California’s fastest growing ethnic group.
