The adidas UltraBoost 20 ‘Chinese New Year’ rings in the year of the ox with gradient-hued three-stripes, a red pull tab and celebratory graphics throughout the sneaker’s elastane heel. The rest of the upper is constructed from black Primeknit that incorporates Primeblue — recycled materials made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic. Tomorrow, adidas and Eddie Huang will officially reveal a special edition Ultraboost model in celebration of the Chinese New Year. Inspired by traditional New Year elements, the re-imagined Ultraboost incorporates authentic elements and design cues to pay homage to the Year of the Pig. The Boost midsole provides responsive cushioning, while the Continental rubber outsole offers excellent traction. The shoe also features a special tongue tag with a graphic of an ox, as well as a Chinese character on the heel tab. The adidas UltraBoost OG ‘Chinese New Year’ celebrates the lunar holiday with bold graphic flourishes. A breathable Primeknit upper in Crystal White is enlivened with a large embroidered tiger atop the vamp, while a lotus flower print adds contrasting pops of color to either side of the Boost midsole and semi-translucent heel counter.
