This Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese will observe a different animal in the zodiac, the cat. The reasons are murky: could be linguistics or the landscape — or maybe cats are just plain friendlier. That means that the current year of the cat began on January 22nd, 2023 (Chinese New Year) and will end on February 9th, 2024.
